About Student Council

Our High School Student Council is elected by the student body every Spring, for the following year. There are 16 members on council, with 8 of them being elected by the whole school, 4 of them being elected by grade levels, and 4 of them being appointed by the newly elected council.

Student Council plans most of the dances, activities, events, and assemblies for the school year. They also approve, support, and manage clubs. If you have a club you want to start, it goes through the Student Council. Student Council is also the first place to go if you have an issue about something student life related.

There are four committees on Student Council, that are made up of the members of council.

The committees are:

  • Publicity and Communications

  • Student Life, Issues, and Service

  • Dances and Socials

  • Activities, Events, and Spirit

These committees help things run smoothly in council, by breaking up responsibilities into smaller groups.

If that sounds like something you want to be a part of, consider running for Council in the Spring!
